30,000 Rallies, Eight Months: 2025 is Poised to Shatter Records

I HAVE AMAZING NEWS!!!

As you may know, every week my volunteers and I combine four protest calendaring sites into one list (This week’s is below). Not only does it connect people to action, but it also tracks our movement’s growth.

In 2023, the Crowd Counting Consortium logged 29,500 rallies TOTAL. Their data includes protests from both ends of the political spectrum.

April through November 2025, I have logged 30,069 pro-democracy rallies. In eight months, we’ve exceeded 2023’s counts.

BUT WAIT… it is not the national rallies alone that are driving this growth. When I compare weeks without a No Kings or Good Trouble, I notice a trend.

Here’s an example… This week, there are 841 protests in my list. The week of September 13-19, a week without a national protest, there were 676. And during the week of May 25-30, there were 525.

525 to 676 to 841 = growth

BUT WAIT… I have observed that, conservatively, I miss 15-20% of protests held in a given week. Several groups organize on private Facebook groups, by word of mouth, or on Signal. In other words, that 30,000 is likely closer to 34,000 to 35,000.

Despite the losses on the House and Senate floors this week, our movement is growing. Take heart.
