Yes, terrifying - we must do everything we can to protect our immigrants. But it also made me think of Israel's registry, treatment and campaign against Palestinians over the last 75 years - Palestinians are at the point where Jews were in Nazi Germany in late 1941 - close to annihilation.

We know immigrants are not the true target of these ads because they are available only in English. Fear-mongering, drum-beating, whatever you call it…you are correct, it is nothing but propaganda. I find it telling that some of our local radio stations have taken to airing a disclaimer before each of these ads is run, stating “This is paid advertising and the views stated herein are not necessarily the views of this station.”

Why are stations running the ad at all? Can they refuse? Or is it a sign they’re going along?

The unfortunate state of affairs is that the current administration is petty and vindictive. Refusals to run ads would put the media company in the crosshairs for retaliation. This particular media company is small and local, so they can little afford such negative attention and potential losses of ad revenue. The disclaimer is their way of saying, “This sucks, but what can we do?” Doesn’t help that our governor is a tRump wannabe.

Yes we need to do what we can for sure. Yet for many tears (Freudian slip) years my primary approach is meditation. Notwithstanding, I see a course correction is in order. Large order. A balance is sought…words of wisdom I think from the 14th century German mystic Meister Eckhart: “The outer work can never be small if the inner work is great. And the outer work can never be great if the inner work is small.”

This was posted today on Reddit by the Mayday Movement. I would like to think that they are exaggerating the danger, except I fear that they are right. Mainstream media is useless, and so, it seems, is Congress. I am hoping that people like you, and Heather Cox Richardson and the like can reach enough people to truly raise the alarm. Way too many people are just going on with life as usual. By the time they are personally affected, it will be too late.

I recently traveled, and while in the security check line, was horrified that this vile propaganda video was played over and over between the security instructions.

In these ads, Noem hopes to 'glamourize' white xenophobia and racism by contrasting her robotic, pampered Barbie persona against mostly dark-skinned, tattooed prisoners who are photographed as if they were violent criminals on 'Wanted' posters.
