In Washington State WAISN - Washington Immigrant Solidarity Network is who we contact to confirm ICE sightings: 1 (844) 724-3737. Website is https://waisn.org/. Thank you!
In Key West, Florida, local businesses, clergy and citizens have signed a petition that has been sent to our state and and federal representative.
There is also a meeting with the mayor and city commission this coming Monday about ice here.
We want ice out of our community!
We have organizations that have formed to report ice sightings, and also to help those people who are too afraid to come out of their homes, providing them with food.
Unfortunately, it’s not seeming like it’s a Democratic government anymore. It’s so very out of control and so sad! Yes, there are people that are afraid to come out of their houses for fear of ice.
Calling these groups ICE doesn’t tell us who/what they are! Back alley tough guys fits better. Time to give them a new name so there’s no confusion about what they’re doing.
This is what democracy looks like. Those of us who look and speak in a way that aligns with privilege and power need to stand up for other human beings who are more vulnerable.
Attended my first overpass protest on Veterans Day and will attend another on July 4. The numerous honks we received from passing vehicles were extremely uplifting! Additional benefit: The breeze generated by passing vehicles was quite nice, too!
Cool! Our local Indivisible Chapter uses a Signal account specifically for short-notice Pop Up Protests. Today’s Pop Up was an overpass protest. I love seeing The Resistance getting organized and being more efficient!
I'm trying to get more involvement here in the Charleston SC area. I would love love love to get a group to help with overpass messaging. So far all I seem to find are people who just want to hold meetings, go to protests and send postcards.... We need more visibility and more action.
In York PA the Pennsylvania Immigration Resource Center (PIRC) has formed with other groups a Rapid Response Team . Its phone number is 717-239-7452.
PIRC’s main number is 717-600-8099. Andrew Baranoski is the executive director. Also there is a small group of us standing in silent protest once a weekly in front of the ICE facility hidden in industrial York.
This honestly made me cry happy tears. The people of America are rising together and it makes me have hope for the future. 🙌💓
Thank you!

Oh my heavens!! Afraid to come out of their homes !? That’s heartbreaking !!! Why is such cruelty necessary by a democratic government ?

A double bonus. I’m thinking of doing one in our town when I get home.
