No Kings! Updates and Information
A second No Kings event is coming October 18.
Hello Dissenters!
No Kings is just 18 days away. According to Indivisible, there are over 2100 events listed! That was the number of protests scheduled for the last No Kings (there were closer to 2200 actual events).
This email is an update with essential training information, how to prepare, and ways families can participate.
With rising political tensions, we must be even better prepared to encounter push-back. IT IS LIKELY, that like last June, Trump will attempt to incite his base in the week prior.
Please, share. We need to amplify this message to grow our reach. Let’s prepare and stand together as a community.

FAMILIES
In light of the political climate, families ought to consider how they can participate with care. If you decide to bring your children, even teens, please, create a safety plan (see below). Weigh the best way to involve your kids and be safe.
Here are a few other ways you can get involved:
FAMILY FRIENDLY | A few cities are offering family friendly events including send offs and caravans. Check yours.
CHALK THE WALK | Chalk pro-democracy messages at the site of the protest the DAY OR MORNING PRIOR. You can also chalk your local park or near your home.
HONK & WAVE | Create signs with your kids. Drive a few laps around the protest site, honking, waving, and encouraging protesters.
CLEAN UP | If the location is a safe for kids (like parks and squares), consider arriving after the event to help clean up trash. Be sure to bring gloves and bags.

The posters are great, but please consider those of us who are "Luddite" enough to simply want to print an 8 1/2 x 11 sheet. I have no clue how to proceed.
BTW, I live in a small (very red) Midwestern town. Our first event began with me, alone, an 81-year-old woman with a heart condition who decided she couldn't NOT protest. One neighbor joined me; a woman from the local Democratic Club came; 2 young women driving by turned around and stood with us. Our most recent protest (third one) on Sep 1 was 40 people, in the pouring rain. my goal is 120+ for No Kings 2.0. Never believe you can't make a difference because you're only one person, or because you're old, or for any other reason.
A HUGE turnout on October 18 will really help to build the momentum for ‘The Fall of the Trump Fascist Regime’ beginning Nov 5 in Washington, DC; and best of all: 50501 has officially endorsed the mass mobilization and occupation! Let’s do this! refusefascism.org
