Two Days to Change Our Nation

Medicaid, ACA Subsidies, SNAP, and more will be cut unless we get loud.

On Tuesday, the House will bring its budget to the Congress floor.

Scratch that. It’s not a budget.

It is a Sherrif-of-Nottingham ploy to enrich a petty king at the expense of his country. He would rob the poor to fatten the wealthy. Period.

We, the people, must stand against this.

Over the next two days, everyone, everywhere must contact their representatives, their governors, and their senators. From the Dems, we must demand they do everything in their power to stop this budget and insist on one that benefits the 99%.

From the Republican representatives, we must call upon them to justify their actions. They ought to be ashamed. Let’s let them know that.

We will not accept tax cuts for the rich. Not a penny.

CALL 📞

Call your reps, your senators, and your governors. Governors cannot vote directly, but they can exert pressure.

• Guidance for calling your representatives can be found on 5Calls.

• Always leave your name and address/zip so it’s tallied.

• Be firm. Get personal.

• Leave voicemails at night if you can’t get through during the day.

• Call local offices if their DC number is busy.

Social media can be a powerful tool.

• Tag your reps in posts.

• Stories. Stories. Stories. Tell the stories of how Medicaid or SNAP has benefitted you. Add pictures when appropriate.

• Hold them accountable. Clear questions like, “How can you justify slashing healthcare for children?” are poignant.

• Remember, these posts are for them as well as your followers, friends, and family.

EMAIL ✉️

Though emails are less effective than calls, they can’t hurt.

• Share personal stories of how a loss of insurance or SNAP will affect a member of your family, your community, or yourself.

• Ask them to justify choosing tax cuts for billionaires over their constituents.

• TIP: Write up a script for your calls, and then copy and paste it into the email.

Visit your representatives’ district offices.
